What Is a Digipak?
A digipak is a limited edition package for CD's. They replace the typical jewel case in methods of packaging. The digipak was created around the 2000's. The typical digipak will have 6 sides and one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD. The digipak was the first alternative to jewel cases to be used by most major record companies. The digipak offers more to the audience than normal CD's. For example it can add bonus features such as pictures of the band and commentary's. This can lead to more people buying the digipak. Some of the advantages of having a digipak would be that it brings sentimental value to the consumers. A digipak will be more creative due to it being able to have more sides. Digipaks are now more common and more popular than the normal jewelled CD's.
